PARKS – TERMS & CONDITIONS

Rules followed while in protected Areas. These must be adhered to and they include:

GENERAL PARK REGULATIONS


  • The reception opens for visitors at 7:30am and closes at 5:00pm.
  • Do not enter the forest with out a park guide.
  • Refrain from taking any thing out of the forest (flowers, butterflies e.t.c)
  • Dogs and other domestic animals are prohibited.
  • Fire arms and ammunitions are prohibited.

BWINDI IMPERNETRABLE NATIONAL PARK


  • Don’t eat or smoke when with Gorillas or within distance of 200m from the Gorillas.
  • Don’t spit on vegetation or soil while in the park; use your hankie or other garments.
  • Stay together in a tight group while with the Gorillas, don’t surround them.
  • No one with communicatable diseases like flue, diarrhea is allowed to enter the park.
  • Don’t get closer than 5meters (15feet) to the Gorillas.
  • Don’t use flashes while photographing.
  • Don’t litter. All litter must be carried out of the park and disposed off Properly.
  • Turn away from the Gorillas if you need to sneeze or cough. Cover your nose and mouth while in the process.
  • Bury all human sheet minimum of one fit deep and cover the hole well.
  • No person under the age of 15 is allowed to track Gorillas.
  • Don’t make loud noise or move suddenly.
  • You are only allowed a maximum of one hour within gorillas.

RWENZORI NATIONAL PARK


Behaviors at the Huts and on the Trail:
  • The park accepts 15 people per hut per night
  • Delaying your first departure a day may mean less congestion.
  • Do not litter the park with non burnable or non bio-degradable items like tins, plastics and silver foils.
  • Personally collect these things and make sure you or your porters take them out of the park.
  • Please use the latrines for all body wastes.
  • Respect others in the huts by sharing space, stoves, talking quietly (no radios). Crowded huts can be much more pleasant if basic courtesy and politeness is expressed.
  • Observe the prohibition of wood fire. Making fire using local wood is prohibited in the park. Use your own paraffin stove or gas, charcoal availed.
  • Please be considerate to your porters by bringing the minimum equipment. Extra personal gear means heavier loads or extra porters, which is not only bad for the porter but also for the environment
  • Minimize damage on trails by following your guide closely- avoid making new paths. Each time a hiker makes a new route, the paths get wider and more vegetation turns to mud.
  • Ask your guide on how to conduct your self.
  • Rainfall is highly expected in July – August and December – February

QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK


  • Enter the protected area through Katungu, Ishasha and Kabatooro gates.
  • Drive only designated roads.
  • Do not sound your horn.
  • Walk only on designated trails.
  • Visitors should be accompanied by a guide on nature walks and game drives.
  • Camp only at designated camp sites.
  • Do not pick flowers, cut plants nor destroy any vegetation.
  • Dogs or any other domestic animals are not allowed in the park.
  • Fire arms or ammunitions are not allowed in the park.
  • Don’t litter.
  • Drive only between 6:30pm and 6:30pm.
  • Light fires only at the fire rings at the camp site.

KIBALE NATIONAL PARK


  • For this being a tropical rain forest and animal sightings depend on several factors, such as time of the day, fruits availability and how quiet the visitors group is.
  • The maximum number of visitors is 6 per group.
  • Please remain in a tight group (do not scatter) and follow the guide’s directions at times.
  • Please remain at a distance of at least 8 meters from the chimps or other animals.
  • Under no circumstances should any one chase the chimps or other animals while they are descending to or walking on the ground.
  • Please don’t enter the forest if you are sick, since this puts the animals at serious risk of disease transmission.
  • Please refrain from eating near the chimps and other primates.
  • Please don’t shout in the forest.
  • Due to red ants and slippery trails, its advisable to put on boots that cover your toes, long trousers and water proof clothing in the wet season.
  • Children under 12 years will not be permitted to view the Chimps for safety reasons.
  • Please follow proper waste disposal methods.
  • Don’t throw rubbish within the forest.
  • If you need to have a short call during the walk, please do so off the trail system.
  • If you need to have a long call, please do so off the trail system and bury the waste and toilet paper in a hole one fit deep (this should be done in a maximum of 8 meters away from the trails system).
  • Remember you are one of the many visiting Kibale National Park, so keep it safe for all.

SEMULIKI NATIONAL PARK


  • Enter the protected area through Sempaya gate.
  • Drive only designated roads.
  • Don’t sound your horn.
  • Walk only on designated trails.
  • Visitors should be accompanied by guides on nature walks and game drives.
  • Camp only at designated camp sites.
  • Don’t pick flowers, cut plants nor destroy any vegetation.
  • Dogs or any other domestic animals are not allowed in the park.
  • Fire arms or ammunitions are not allowed in the park.
  • Don’t litter.
  • Driver only between 6:30am and 6:30pm.
  • Light fire only at the rings at the camp site.
